The promoter

The project has been developed by the Sylvestris Group, a company in which the Repsol Foundation has a stake. With more than 30 years of experience in the forestry sector, the Sylvestris Group is an expert in the design and implementation of absorption projects for carbon footprint offsetting.

The area

The plot is located in the municipality of Grandas de Salime.

Planting

It is a forest that has been reforested with Pinus pinaster subsp. atlántica (Cluster pine), suitable for the environment of the area. The tree density is 1,333 ft/ha, thus avoiding the need for intensive silviculture in the future. This forest is part of the action that is being developed in this area on 460 hectares, within the framework of the Green Engine project.
